What is a Bridge Pass?
A Bridge Pass is the fastest, easiest, and most convenient way
to travel on the Saint John Harbour Bridge. It's an electronic transmitter
that attaches to the inside of your windshield and allows you to pay for your
trip easily and electronically - no card to swipe, no attendant to pay.
Why
should I buy a Bridge Pass?
Using a Bridge Pass saves you time. It's more convenient. It will also keep
track of the number of times you use the bridge.
How does a Bridge Pass work?
When approaching the toll plaza, Bridge Pass users go through any lane. As you approach the toll gate, your Bridge Pass number is read by a computer system that checks your account to make sure there are enough funds to pay the toll. If your account has sufficient funds, you get a green traffic light and the toll gate rises automatically. When your account balance falls to the minimum balance, you get a yellow and green light and the toll gate rises. That means you need to make a deposit to your account. (If there is not enough money in your account to pay the toll, you get a yellow and red light and the gate does not rise. A toll attendant will explain how to pay the toll and replenish your account).
How much does a Bridge Pass cost and where do I get one?
A Bridge Pass costs $30.00. This is a one-time charge. You can open a Bridge Pass account in person at the Saint John Harbour Bridge Office beside the toll plaza, mail in your application, drop it off at the toll plaza or fax it to us at 506-635-1322. Or you can click the link below and order it directly over the internet. You may come in and pick it up or we can mail it to your for a small handling fee.
